Description
The Jolly Huntsman Inn is an inn that dates from the late 18th century and was extended in 1880. It is constructed of squared rubble stone and features a stone slate roof, with a ridge stack and a stack at the north end. The building has two storeys and originally had a three-window range, which has been extended to the north by one bay. The original range includes beaded mullion windows, with two lights on each side except for a three-light window on the ground floor to the left, and a single light window in an unmoulded frame above the door at the center. The 1880 extension has an unmoulded three-light window below and a two-light window above, along with a painted brick north end wall that includes a datestone. There is also a painted brick rear wing with unmoulded mullion windows and a slate roof, with the west gable end open to full height. Behind the original range is a former malthouse. The inn was formerly known as the White Horse Inn.
