Description
The K6 telephone kiosk in Kington St Michael was designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V. Constructed from cast iron, it features margin glazing bars on the windows and door. The kiosk has a square shape with a domed roof. Each side of the upper segmental structure displays a crown in relief above a glazed panel that reads "TELEPHONE." This kiosk is recognized for its iconic industrial design, showcasing Scott's blend of Neoclassical elements with modern technology. It is also noted for its Group Value with nearby structures, including the village hall, post office, and red letter box, as well as several other Grade II listed buildings.
