Description
The Old Police House is a former police station that has been converted into a house. It was remodeled in 1889 from a pair of early to mid 18th century houses. The building is constructed from rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has casement windows set in cambered-head brick surrounds.
The structure consists of two sections; the larger range on the left has coped gables, end stacks, and a three-window range, with pairs of casement windows above and triple casements below, along with a central door. The slightly lower two-window range on the right includes a triple casement and a door below, with a first-floor casement pair that has a date plaque reading "TB 1734 / 1889" to the right. Inside, the main range features a moulded Tudor arched stone fireplace of 17th century design at the north end. The building is included for its group value.
