Description
No 23 is a house from the early 18th century, constructed of rubble stone and topped with a stone slate roof. It features coped gables and a stack at the south end. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a double fronted design. The windows on the front are cyma-moulded flush 2-light mullion windows, although the left ground floor window has been replaced by a 20th-century window. The central door is set in a flush moulded surround and is topped by a deep segmental hood supported by scrolled brackets. At the north end, there is an attic 2-light window with a dripstone above it. An attached outbuilding is located to the northwest, also covered with a stone slate roof. The south end features an attic window, a first-floor mullion window, and a ground floor mullion window, with a dripcourse that continues across the rear wing, which has a similar two-window arrangement and an east stack.
