Barn Approximately 15 Metres South East Of Plas-Yn-Y-Coed

This barn, located approximately 15 meters southeast of Plas-yn-y-Coed, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and a corrugated iron roof. There are doorways on the left, right, and left of center, along with an opening above the plinth between the two left doorways. The barn has four eaves hatches. Inside, the framing is visible, consisting of square and rectangular panels with vertical posts. The roof is a single through-purlin design spanning seven bays, incorporating a mix of queen-strut trusses and raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters. There are short straight windbraces and braces from the wall posts to slightly cambered tie beams. A slate floor is present in the fourth bay from the right, which was formerly used as a threshing bay.
