Description
This barn, located approximately 25 meters north-east of Blakeway Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on an uncoursed limestone rubble plinth, with 19th-century brown brick infill at the south-east gable end and a plain tile roof. The barn has a central former threshing entrance. Inside, the framing is exposed, showcasing square panels with four sections from the cill to the wall-plate, supported by long straight tension braces. The roof consists of a double-purlin structure in three bays, with raking struts extending from tie beams to support the principal rafters, and V-struts connecting to the gable ends.
