Description
This barn, located about 5 yards north-west of Eardisley Wooton Farmhouse, is a Grade II* listed structure that may date back to the 13th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, sitting on a rubble base with a corrugated metal roof that is half-hipped at the south end. The barn consists of three cruck-framed bays arranged in a north/south orientation. The central wagon bay has opposing cart entries with double doors, and the roof is slightly raised above this bay.
Inside, all four trusses are intact, although the one at the south end is truncated. The wall framing includes two large panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, with long straight braces in the lower corners, some swept upper corner braces, and two tiers of purlins.
