Description
This gateway, located in a garden wall on the north side of the road approximately 75 metres northeast of Bollitree Castle Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century and incorporates earlier fragments. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with stone dressings. The gate features a plain stone surround with a round head, a keystone, and moulded imposts. Above the gate, there is a band and below a gabled coping, a carved shield of arms with a crest is flanked by angel corbels, which appear to be medieval and have been reused.
