Description
Cherry Orchard is a house that likely dates back to the 16th century, with additions made in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure topped with a tile roof. The earlier section, located to the right of a two-storey gabled porch added in the 20th century, consists of one storey with an attic. The timber framing is arranged in square panels across three rows, with the spacing becoming more irregular towards the left. The ground floor has four 20th-century casement windows, and there is a gabled attic dormer above, along with a low window under the eaves to the right. A chimney is positioned to the right of the porch, and the roof is half-hipped on the right side. The right-hand gable wall reveals an exposed cruck truss made of light scantling, which ends at collar level. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace and a chamfered axial beam on the ground floor, although no crucks are visible. On the first floor, there are two tie-beam trusses with raking struts supporting the principals.
