Description
The cowhouse, likely built in the 18th century, is located about 25 yards west of Pike's Farmhouse. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features a corrugated iron roof. The building consists of three bays and has two triangular ventilators, one on either side of a full-height central entrance. There are three similar ventilators on the rear wall and one on each gable end wall. Inside, the structure has two heavy low trusses with raking struts that are pegged from the tie-beams to the rafters. This cowhouse is part of a group that includes Pike's Farmhouse and a barn to the northeast, and it is listed for its group value.
