Description
The cowhouse, located approximately 10 meters south-west of Church Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone later alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rubblestone plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The building has a single doorway on the farmyard side and a central doorway that is accessed by external lateral stone steps, with additional doorways to the left and right. Inside, the framing is visible with renewed vertical posts. The roof consists of a single-purlin collar and tie beam structure divided into three short bays, supported by V-struts from the collars, and includes a continuous loft. The cowhouse is included for its group value.
