EDGTON C.P. EDGTON SO 38 NE 1/134 Edgton Farmhouse - 21.3.68 GV II

Farmhouse. Mid-C17, extended late C18 or early C19 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill on high rubblestone plinth; asbestos sheet and plain tile roof to C17 part. Regularly coursed and uncoursed limestone rubble to addition with upper storey of front rebuilt in late C19 red brick; machine tile roof. L- plan with C17 range at right-angles to rear on left. 2 storeys to C17 part, 2 storeys and attic with dentilled eaves cornice to addition. Framing: square panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate. C20 casements to right on ground and first floors with C20 gabled stone porch to right. C18/C19 addition has 2-window front; late C19 segmental-headed casements and contemporary gabled half-dormers. Integral end stack to right with red brick shaft and tall integral stack with red brick shaft to rear at junction with C17 range. Interior: inspection not possible at time of resurvey (September 1986) but likely to be of interest.
