Watermill. Mid to late C19. Uncoursed limestone rubble, windows with red brick dressings and dressed stone cills, and slate roof. 3 storeys and gable-lit attic. Segmental-headed small-paned cast iron windows. North front: first floor boarded loft door to left; ground floor boarded door to left and one storey lean-to to right with corrugated iron roof and 2-leaf boarded door in left-hand return front. West front: one window on first and second floors, and small circular window in gable end. South front: 2 first floor windows; gabled red brick wheelhouse with corrugated iron roof off-centre to left. Adjoining one storey workshop to east; red brick with slate roof; large C20 door to front. Interior: ground floor boarded partition to west enclosing gearing and shafting to 2 sets of millstones on first floor; grain bins on second floor with wooden chute to supply the stones; probably overshot wheel in wheelhouse to south with wooden spokes and cast iron hub and rim. Included as an example of an estate water mill in working order.
