LYDBURY NORTH C.P. CHOULTON Choulton Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. C17 with C19 refacing and additions and late C20 partial refacing. Rendered timber frame with C20 planted timbers; coursed limestone refacing and additions, partly rendered; slate roofs. Framing: square panels, 4 up to wall plate. Probably 2 framed bays with late C19 addition to north-east and mid to late C19 wing to north- west forming L-plan. 2 storeys with lower 2 storey wing. Rendered ridge stack off-centre to left. 2 central first floor 2-light mid to late C19 or C20 wooden casements; central ground floor C20 French casements, boarded door to left, and half-glazed C20 door within C20 conservatory to right with re-used moulded timber above dated 1631. Lower projecting wing has rendered external end stack and lean-to extension at north-west end. 2 windows (mid C19 casements) and central boarded door; possibly former scullery. 3 window front to south- east with C20 casements.
