Description
Eyton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of rubble and pebbledash, topped with a slate roof and features brick chimneys. The building is oriented southwest to northeast, with a southeast aspect. The front has a three-room plan, along with an L-shaped wing for services that dates to around 1800, an office to the northwest, and a 20th-century block in the re-entrant area.
The main front of the farmhouse is two storeys high, featuring a ridge chimney to the left of centre and a 19th-century external end chimney to the right. The façade includes one window to the left and three windows to the right, showcasing mid-19th-century wooden mullioned and transomed windows, with cross windows on the first floor. There is a gabled porch located to the right of the centre room, and a large gap for the chimney between the left and centre rooms, with the south corner rounded.
Inside, the southwest room contains two spine beams with deep stop chamfers. The stairs have been altered, but the first-floor landing retains damaged splat balusters. The first-floor rooms are accessed through plank and muntin doors.
