Description

This milestone, located west of Totterbank Bridge, dates from the late 18th century and is associated with the Turnpike Act of 1768. It is a small sandstone monolith featuring a segmental arched head. The front of the milestone is inscribed in uppercase letters with serifs, reading: "MILES B.CASTLE 3 M.BROOK 6 C.ARMS 6 3/4".
