Description

This cowhouse, located about 25 metres east of New House Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century with some remodelling from the 18th century. It features timber framing, weatherboarding, and coursed rubble, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The structure likely consists of four framed bays aligned north to south, with an additional open bay at the southern end that connects by the roof to a barn situated approximately 30 metres east of New House Farmhouse. The west side of the cowhouse has been partly rebuilt in rubble and includes four entrances, each fitted with a boarded door that has strap hinges and ventilation slits. This building is included for its group value.
