2/53 Stable and attached wall to south of Field's Place Cottage

GV II

Stable. Probably late C18. Timber-frame with brick and plaster infill and Welsh slate roof hipped to west. Two bays aligned east/west. Two levels. South elevation has 2-leaved ledged doors to left-hand side. Frame is three panels high from cill to wall-plate. Interior has collar truss with braces tied to wall-posts. Wall linking stable to Field's Place Cottage (qv) is probably late C18 or early C19, brick, about 20 yards long and ten feet high, curving up to about 15 feet at the eaves of Field's Place Cottage. Included for group value as important features in the setting of Field's Place (qv) and Field's Place Cottage.
