Description
The coach house at Ridgebourne is a mid-19th century structure. It features a dressed stone front and coursed rubble walls, topped with a "turnerized" slate roof that has a gable at the front. A turret with louvres and pointed leaded lights sits under a lead roof, complete with a ball finial. The building is single storey with a loft.
The front has a canted semicircular arch made of ashlar voussoirs and stone springers, with a band above it. There is a lunette light beneath the ashlar arch at the gable. To the right, there is a semicircular light with a casement under a semicircular ashlar arch, while to the left, there is the frame of a double doorway. Inside, the floor is cobbled.
On the right side, there is a round opening at the gable, and on the left side, there is a loft door. At the rear, there are two plank doors, a three-light casement in an altered opening, and segmental arches, along with a blue brick stack. The building is included for its group value.
