Description
The Coachman's and Kennelmen's bothy and kennels, located about 30 yards north of Barton Court, is a mid-19th century cottage and kennels. It is constructed of rubble with brick dressings and features a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has a single cell layout with two kennels. Access is from the south through a rustic branch porch. There is one window on the first floor, while the ground floor window is positioned on the west side. The south gable includes a small wooden bellcote and block, with an additional first floor window on the north side. The two kennels are lean-tos that are separated by a yard with railings and share a common wall extending from the southeast corner of the cottage. Behind this wall, there is a lean-to structure for chickens and another kennel. Inside, the building retains an elliptical hood fireplace and stairs leading to the upper floor. A clock by T F Cooper from Calthorpe Street, London, dated 1845, is also present.
