Description
No. 5 St Peter's Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices, dating from the late 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate and plain tiles, with a brick stack at the rear. It stands three storeys tall and includes a cellar, with a four-window range comprising 6/6 sash windows (one is from the 20th century, and another has a moulded wood architrave and awning) and 3/3 sash windows (one of which is blocked) above. The eaves are moulded and have modillion details.
The entrance is located to the centre left and features a part-glazed panelled door with an ornamental fanlight. This is framed by panelled reveals and is topped with an open pediment wood hood supported by plain consoles and moulded pilasters. The façade also includes three 6/6 sashes set beneath gauged brick flat arches. On the right side of the building, there are two projecting semicircular bays with various sashes and blocked openings, also under gauged brick flat arches, and the eaves detail continues around this return.
