Description
No. 17 St Peter's Street is a shop and dwelling with a 20th-century front that conceals a 16th-century core. The building features a timber-frame and plaster construction, topped with a Welsh slate roof that has two ridge levels. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The façade includes an 8-light canted mullion and transom oriel windows supported by enriched corbels and sheltered by pentice roofs. Above, there are 4-light mullion windows. The barge boards are enriched and include pendants. The late 20th-century shop front is located beneath an earlier moulded hood. The right side of the building shows mutilated 16th-century timber-framing with brick infill, set on a stone rubble plinth.
