Description
Upper Ashton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with significant alterations and additions made in the mid to late 19th century. The building is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a sandstone rubble plinth, along with later additions. It features sandstone rubble stacks topped with brick shafts and has tiled roofs. The original timber-framed wing runs north to south, with a later parallel wing added to the east side. The main entrance is located on the south front. The farmhouse has two storeys and attics. The gable end of the earlier wing on the left has a 2-light glazing bar casement window, while the later wing projects forward to the right and includes a gabled dormer window on the left-hand return, a 2-light casement window, and a gabled porch with a ledged door on the ground floor. The gable end of the later cross-wing to the right also features a 2-light glazing bar casement window. The interior has not been inspected.
