Description
The Mathews memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 6 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Deinst. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features a square set with a moulded plinth and capping, topped with a swagged urn finial. It has corner balusters and rectangular inscription panels that include oval insets. The frieze is decorated with fluting and paterae. The inscription on the memorial is largely illegible.
