Description

The Matthews memorial is fixed to the east wall of the Church of St. Michael in Llanyblodwel. It dates from around 1715 and is made of limestone. The memorial features a plain tablet with a moulded plinth and pilastered corner piers. It has gadrooned capping and pyramidal finials on either side of a cavetto-moulded finial, which is topped with an armorial device. The moulded inscription panel commemorates Edward Matthews, who died in 1715.
