Description
Llanyblodwel Post Office is a former school-master's house, built around 1850 by Reverend John Parker. The building is constructed from regularly coursed and dressed sandstone blocks with ashlar dressings, and features hipped graded slate roofs topped with carved stone finials, showcasing a Gothic style. It is divided into two sections, with a prominent porch on the eastern part. The structure is two storeys tall.
The original windows include paired lancets on the first floor, each with uncusped quatrefoils above, and gables that pierce the eaves on the long sides. The ground floor has chamfered two-light mullion windows, while both floors feature narrow rectangular chamfered windows. The main entrance is through a Gothic-panelled door located under the porch. The building has ridge and valley stacks, with a main group of four that includes opposing octagonal stone shafts and yellow brick shafts with chamfered corners, all topped with moulded capping.
Llanyblodwel Post Office forms a picturesque group with The Old School and the enclosing wall.
