Description

BUCKNELL C.P. CHAPEL LAWN ROAD (east side), SO 37 SE Bucknell 12/27 Matthews memorial - approx. 20m south-east of chancel of Church of St Mary. GV II

Pedestal tomb. Circa 1771. Limestone. Square section with moulded plinth and capping, surmounted by fluted urn-shaped finial. Slightly recessed inscription panel on north commermorates Thomas Matthews (died 1771) and his wife, Ann (died 1762). Further inscriptions on south and east sides to other members of the Matthews family.
