Description

The Hamer memorial and railed enclosure is located in the angle between the south porch and the nave of the Church of St. Michael in Llanyblodwel. This structure dates from the early 19th century and consists of a chest tomb made of limestone, accompanied by a cast-iron enclosure. The tomb is rectangular in shape, featuring a moulded plinth and capping, with pilastered corner piers and a chamfered top ledger. On the south side, there is a moulded inscription panel that commemorates Mary Hamer, who died in 1824 and was associated with Glan-yr-afon (Hall). The tomb is set within a railed enclosure that has spear-headed railings mounted on a stone plinth, which is attached to the south porch and nave of the Church of St. Michael.
