Description

The Hamar Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 10 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St George. It dates from around 1830 and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The memorial features sunken panels and an entablature with a moulded cornice. It is topped with a concave capping that supports a globe finial, which has a central raised fluted band. This tomb commemorates William Hamar, who died in 1830.
