Description

A pair of cottages, later incorporating a shop, was built in the early 18th century. The eaves were raised and the façade was refaced in the mid-to-late 19th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a roughcast front and a slate roof. They have brick end stacks. The front features two first-floor 2-light wooden casements, a 2-light metal casement to the right, and ground-floor casements consisting of a segmental-headed 2-light casement to the right, and a 3-light casement to the left. A former shop front is centrally positioned and includes a plate-glass window to the right with a pilastered surround, a 6-flush panelled door to the left with a rectangular overlight, and a fascia above both. To the left is a 4-flush panelled door with a pilastered surround and glazed upper panels, and to the right is a 4-flush panelled door.
