Description
No. 6 Bridge Street is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled around 1928. It features the date "Ye Olde Shoppe. 1613" and has a pebbledashed brick front, with limewashed coursed limestone rubble on the side and rear walls, topped by a slate roof. The building has two storeys and a gable-lit attic, with a plinth at the base. The front has two windows, which are two-light wooden-framed metal casements. The ground floor window to the right has a returned wooden hoodmould and projects slightly. To the left, there is a square bay added around 1928, which includes a frieze, cornice, and a tented lead hood. The central entrance features a 20th-century boarded door with a flat hood supported by wrought iron brackets. This building is included for its group value.
