Description

A row of three houses, now two houses, a shop, and an inn, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is possible that the building incorporates earlier fabric and has undergone alterations in the late 20th century. The exterior is stuccoed, likely over a rubble core, and has a slate roof. It is two and three storeys high, with a brick end-stack on the left and two brick ridge-stacks positioned off-centre to the left and right. The front facade features five windows. Three second-floor windows on the right side have two metal casements. The first floor has four sashes to the right (two with four panes and two with glazing bars), and a mid-to-late 20th century three-light casement on the left. A projecting mid-19th century shop front is located on the right side, with a small-paned shop window to the left and a four-panelled door to the right, surmounted by a rectangular overlight. The inn entrance is positioned off-centre to the right, featuring a six-panelled door, a rectangular overlight, and a moulded architrave, flanked by two mid-to-late 19th century wooden cross windows. The house and shop on the left side have late 20th century three-light casements and a 20th century boarded door on the left, along with a mid-to-late 19th century shop front to the right, featuring a segmental arch over a small-paned shop window and a glazed door. Two wrought-iron brackets support inn signs between the second and third first-floor windows from the right.
