Description
Crown House is a house that was formerly an inn, likely built in the 18th century and remodeled in the mid-to-late 19th century. The exterior is roughcast, possibly over a timber frame, with a coursed limestone plinth and a slate roof. The building has a basement and two storeys, with a brick stack located above the door, slightly off-centre to the right.
The front of the house features three windows; there are 19th-century wooden casements with two lights on the first floor, a ground floor cross window to the right, and a replacement 20th-century small-paned wooden window to the left. Access to the house is through three steps that lead up from the left to a central four-panelled door, which is topped by an open triangular-pedimented bracketed hood. To the left, there are two large boarded carriageway doors, and to the right, there is a boarded basement door. The building is included for its group value.
