Description
The Hamer Memorial, located approximately 15 meters north-west of the tower of the Church of St. Michael, is a churchyard memorial dating from around 1864. It is made of painted limestone and features an octagonal Gothic-style pedestal tomb with a stepped plinth. Each face of the tomb has a traceried gable at the top, separated from the adjoining face by slender columns with floriated capitals and moulded bases. At the top, there is a steeple-like projection. The memorial includes inscriptions for David Hamer, who died in 1864, as well as later members of the Hamer family. Surrounding the memorial are four stone posts with blind Gothic tracery and gabled caps, which are linked by cast-iron chains with spur-shaped spikes.
