Description
Trereece House is a farmhouse with a core dating back to the 15th century, extended in the 16th and 17th centuries and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The main block is aligned north/south, joined by a later east cross-wing, creating an "L" shape. A further wing extends to the rear (west), incorporating an outshut and a lean-to, and jutting slightly north. The main block has a central entrance with a large axial stack, while further stacks are situated in the east gable and the north gable. The rear block also has an axial stack. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic. The windows have been altered, featuring a mix of casements; including a 3-light casement, a 4-light casement with partially leaded lights, a 2-light window, and a 20th-century 5-light casement on the ground floor, flanking the porch. Two gabled dormers with 2-light, leaded casements are located above the porch on the north side. A 6-panelled door provides access. The north return of the east wing includes two half dormers and two windows. Traces of earlier wooden mullioned windows, now blocked, are visible in the projecting section of the rear block.
