Description

The Thomas Wood headstone is located against the south wall of the nave of the Church of St Deinst in Llangarron. This headstone dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone. It features a cherub's head surrounded by a lace-edged design, with a cartouche below that has a convex inscription panel. The inscription is flanked by asymmetrical borders of fruit and flowers. This headstone commemorates Thomas Wood, who died in 1776, and is noted as a fine example of local craftsmanship.
