Description
Lower Eggleton Court is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, featuring a cross-wing with the main block rebuilt in the early to mid-19th century. The structure has a timber-framed cross-wing with painted brick infill, a sandstone plinth, brick rebuilding, and slate roofs. The main block is aligned east to west, with the cross-wing consisting of two framed bays at the west end facing north. The entrance is centrally located on the main block, and there is an axial stack at the junction with the cross-wing. The building has two storeys, cellars, and attics. On the first floor of the main block, there are three 2-light casement windows, while similar 3-light windows with segmental heads flank a glazed lean-to porch that has a half-glazed door. The gable end of the cross-wing to the right features one 2-light casement window on the first floor and a similar 3-light window on the ground floor. The framing of the cross-wing appears largely complete, with four square panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate.
