Description
Grovewick Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a cross-wing dating to the 17th century, and a main block dated 1802. The farmhouse has a 20th-century brick plinth; the cross-wing is rendered, likely on timber framing, while the main block is rendered, probably on brick; it has an old plain-tile roof. There are 20th-century brick ridge stacks to the left of centre and to the cross-wing. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a three-window front, and a cross-wing to the right. A six-panel part-glazed door is located to the left of centre. The window arrangement is irregular, featuring 20th-century casements, except for 16-pane unhorned sash windows on the ground floor to the left and centre. Inside the cross-wing’s ground floor, there is an open fireplace and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The cross-wing has a queen-post roof. Some rooms in the main block contain early 19th-century fireplaces.
