Description
Monk's Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century. It features a stone rubble plinth and red brick walls with flared headers arranged in Flemish bond. The roof is a hipped design covered with plain tiles from the 20th century, and there are brick stacks at each end. The building is two stories tall with an attic and has a five-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel double-leaf door with an overlight and a flat hood above. All openings have 20th-century cross-windows. A moulded wood cornice runs along the eaves, and there are two gabled full dormers. The rear of the house has similar window arrangements. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an early 18th-century open well staircase. To the right, there is a 19th-century cross-wing made of red brick with an old plain-tile roof, also two stories tall and featuring a two-window range.
