Description
Poplars Farmhouse is a probable mid-17th century farmhouse, with later alterations. It features a painted brick plinth to the cross-wing, with roughcast walls, likely on timber-framing. The roof is covered in plain tiles, half-hipped to the right, and includes a brick ridge stack positioned at the junction with the cross-wing. The main part of the farmhouse is two storeys and has a two-window front. The cross-wing to the left is also two storeys high, with an attic. A six-panel, part-glazed door is situated to the left of centre, covered by a gabled hood supported by brackets. The windows are largely 20th century casements and sashes, except for a single-light, leaded window on the first floor to the right, and a false window in the attic of the cross-wing. The interior has not been inspected. A 20th century two-storey addition, single-bay in width, has been added to the right.
