Description

Fillings Bridge is a 17th-century house, originally two tenements. It is constructed with a timber frame and painted brick infill, featuring a sandstone plinth and a tiled roof. The building is aligned north-east/south-west, facing south-east, with a lean-to at the rear. External stacks with bread ovens are present at the ends of the house. The south-east front has two storeys and four windows, consisting of 2-light and single-light casement windows. There are two ledged doors at ground floor level, situated in the second bay from the left. The timber framing is largely complete though altered; the roof was likely raised, resulting in four square panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate.
