2/120 Two barns, one with cow houses and linking shelter shed, about 25 yards west - of Cothill Farmhouse

Threshing barn, hay barn, shelter shed and cow houses. Early to mid-C19. Thinly coursed rubble with stone slate roofs, part timber-framed with weather- boards. In 3 parts with 2 rectangular ranges tapering in alignment towards each other, with linking shelter shed at west end. Hay barn to north, 3 bays, high rubble plinth, weatherboards over timber-framing 2 panels high, central full-height draft doors; 2 catslide extensions to north; slit vents in stone gable ends and stone straight hoods to gable end openings; 3 rows of purlins, board ridge, thin raking struts to trusses. Shelter shed: 6 open bays on oak posts standing on concrete bases with braces to plate on east side; 2 large buttresses behind. Inside are pegged king post trusses and long feeding racks. Threshing barn and cow houses: 3 + 3 bays with masonry division, full- height draft doors to threshing floor at centre of west part and flanking slit vents, pattern of slit vents in west gable. Eastern end has loft over cow house, 2 doorways with cambered heads (voussoirs with springers) loft entry above.
