8/46 Granary about 15 yards south of Great Moorcourt Farmhouse

Granary and cider house, now granary and store. Probably late C18. Brick with tiled roof. Nine roofing bays, aligned east/west. Two storeys. Three windows. North elevation: two barred semi-circular headed openings to ground floor on right hand side. Two-leaved segmentally headed door to left of granary steps under which is a dog kennel; first floor has three openings, two of which are to the right of large entry from granary steps. West gable has wide segmental opening to ground floor, narrow ledged door to granary floor and 4-light window with hoist below apex of roof. Interior: roof trusses are simple angle struts and collars of massive scantling. Cider press and mill were in the east part of the ground floor entered from beneath the granary steps. Forms a vital part of the farmyard complex at Great Moorcourt Farmhouse (qv) together with the barn (qv), cow house (qv) and former kitchen and laundry (qv).
