Description

This is a dovecote located about 35 yards north-east of Stocks House in Wellington. It was probably built in the mid-18th century and is constructed of brick with slate roofs. The dovecote has an octagonal shape and features diapered blue brick panels on each face. There is a low entrance door in a pegged frame on the south-east side, and it is topped with an octagonal wooden lantern. Inside, there are 18 rows of nests, each supported by two projecting brick headers for the ledges.
