Description
This granary, located about 20 yards east of Hazle Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with brick dressings and features a tiled roof. The building has two bays that are aligned roughly north to south and consists of two levels. On the east side, there are two windows and segmentally-headed ground-floor openings with wooden mullions. The south gable includes a ground floor entrance with a semi-circular head, made of moulded brick for the arch and jambs. Above this entrance, there was once access via tallet stairs, and to the left, there is a low entry into a catslide roofed extension on the west side. Inside, the structure features king-posts with angle struts supporting the principals. This granary is included for its group value with the surrounding buildings.
