Description

This is a dovecot located about 35 yards north-west of Pound Farmhouse, likely built in the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from squared sandstone rubble and features Welsh slate and lead roofs. The dovecot has a circular plan and is two storeys high. It has a moulded eaves cornice and a segmentally-headed doorway that faces roughly north-north-west. The conical Welsh slate roof rises to a lantern, which has a curved 16-pane window on each side and a concave lead roof. A weathervane is also present. The interior was inaccessible during the last survey in July 1986. Please note that Pound Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
