Description
Upper Holme Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is timber-framed with some sections filled with wattle-and-daub. The south-west front has been refaced in brick, while later additions are also in brick. The north-west side is rendered, and there is a sandstone rubble plinth and stacks, with the north-west stack featuring three diagonal shafts. The roof is tiled. The farmhouse is designed in an L-plan, with wings oriented north-west/south-east and north-east/south-west, along with additional extensions to the north-east and south-west. The main external stack is located at the north-west gable end, with the entrance on the south-west side. The building has two storeys. On the south-west front, there is a 3-light 20th-century window to the left and a later forward-projecting gabled addition to the right that features a 2-light 20th-century window. There is also a gabled 20th-century porch on the ground floor that is partly glazed and has a half-glazed door. The square-panelled timber-framing at the rear is rendered. The interior is not accessible.
