Description
The Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th century and extensive alterations made in the late 19th century, along with further changes in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed cross-wing that includes part wattle-and-daub and part 20th-century infill, as well as later additions in sandstone rubble, which are completely rendered on the south-east front. The house has a tiled roof and is aligned from south-west to north-east, with the cross-wing located at the south-west end. It has end and lateral stacks, a central entrance on the south-east front, and an additional entrance on the south-west side of the cross-wing. The building is two storeys high. On the south-east front, the gable end of the cross-wing is to the left and has a 2-light casement window, with two similar windows to the right on the main house, and another similar window to the right of a glazed 20th-century porch that features a 4-panelled door. The left-hand return of the cross-wing reveals square-panelled timber-framing. Although the interior has been altered, it retains some chamfered ceiling beams, and the framing of the cross-wing is largely intact.
