Description
The Howe is a house dating from the 17th century, which has undergone extensive alterations in the late 19th century and further additions in the 20th century. It features square panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill on the ground floor, while the upper floor is completely rendered and sits on a sandstone plinth. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The building consists of two framed bays aligned north-west to south-east, with end stacks and a central entrance. It has two storeys, with the upper floor jettied and two 2-light casement windows. The jetty is underbuilt on the south-west front and projects forward with a lean-to roof, featuring one 2-light casement window to the left and a 20th-century window to the right of a gabled porch that has a 6-panelled inner door. The jetty is also visible on the south-east side and partially at the rear, supported by curved brackets. The interior is not accessible.
