Description
This barn, located about 40 yards north-east of Thruxton Court, is possibly from the late 17th century to the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth, a timber-frame structure, weatherboards, and a concrete pantiled roof that is half-hipped to the north. The barn has seven bays running north to south. The east elevation includes a ledged door beneath the eaves to the left of the center, along with two cart entries—one in the second bay from the left and another in the second bay from the right. Inside, there are angle struts connecting the ties to the principals and side frames, with three square panels extending from the cills to the wall-plates. The barn is prominently situated to the west of the Church of St Bartholomew and is included for its group value.
